Project Apollo
I have been a space aficionado since childhood. I followed the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo programs in my youth and was fortunate enough to observe the Apollo 15 launch during one summer vacation. I was also thrilled as a child when the Apollo 11 astronauts first walked on the moon - on my own birthday. My "Contact Light" web site contains a personal account of the Apollo missions to the Moon from my perspective as a young teenager, and my Project Apollo Archive web site contains hundreds of high-quality images and multimedia clips, as well as a JavaScript lunar landing simulator along with links to other Apollo and space-related web sites.

Steam Locomotives
Several years ago, a friend turned me on to steam locomotives after the Norfolk and Western Railway Co. (now merged with Norfolk Southern) had just restored a vintage 1950's streamlined steam engine and returned it to service. Over the last fourteen years, I photographed this engine and another restored companion as they were used to pull excursion trains. In the Fall of 1994, Norfolk Southern ended the steam program and retired the engine depicted below, the N&W Class J #611. I have chronicled the last leg of the 611's final trip in my Last Run of the N&W 611 web page. Also, my Steam Locomotives page features pictures of this engine and the Class A #1218.

Classic Television
As a young teenager in the late sixties, I was quite fond of science fiction, including of course, the classic Star Trek series. No show fascinated me, however, as much as The Prisoner, a 17-episode British series originally aired in the U.S. by CBS in the summer of 1968. My web site devoted to The Prisoner provides a wealth of information on the series, including original publicity writeups and photos, along with both general and behind-the-scenes information. Also at RetroWeb are sites devoted to two more recent but non-sci-fi series, now also television classics: Northern Exposure and Freaks and Geeks.

R.E.M. (The Rock Group)
Back in '86, a friend had me listen to a new song by a group I had never heard of. The song he played was Cuyahoga from the album Lifes Rich Pageant, and thus began my interest in the foursome of fine musicians that is R.E.M.. My File Under R.E.M. is a tribute to the band and serves as the repository for the internet's Complete R.E.M. Lyrics Archive.

www.LynchburgOnline.com
My hometown and current place of residence, Lynchburg, is located in central Virginia in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. In 1995, friend and fellow resident Jim Allen and I jointly developed a Lynchburg web site which served as the first World-Wide Web site to profile our city. The site has grown to become the de facto web site for Lynchburg, and is now known as LynchburgOnline.
